Our 3rd installment of the 14er Meet Up Series takes us to the beautiful San Isabel Forest to hike Huron Peak! Huron Peak is heard to be a more approachable 14er and said to be one of the most beautiful!

With each hike, there will be a social camp gathering near the trailhead the night before the trip. The location of the campsite will be shared with all individuals that have RSVP’d at least one week prior to the hike.

Individuals can join for us camping the night before to avoid the early morning drive, or meet at the trailhead for a 6am departure the morning of the hike. For those wanting to camp the night before, we will have a meeting place announced the week of the event.

Camping:

Same as last summer, Mountain Hardwear will be onsite and will be providing a tent for your use for the first 10 people that reserve one. Reservations can be made by calling the shop @ 303-903-8584

Our campsite has a fire pit and pit toilets with ample parking. We should be cleared for a campfire, and if so, Feral will provide s’more fixings, but please be prepared for your own meals.

If you don’t place a reservation for a tent, please ensure that you bring one.

This is a social event, providing the opportunity for individuals to engage with other like-minded adventure seekers, and gain experience tackling the beautiful peaks of Colorado. There will certainly be a mixture of first-timers and veterans on every hike.

Huron Peak Hike Details:

Distance from campsite: ~10 miles. The 2 mile road to the actual trailhead is a VERY rough road from our campsite. Don’t let the 10 miles deter you, this is said to be an easier hike and well worth it!
